Digital Terrain Model and Digital Surface Model

The digital terrain model (DTM) is a 3D representation of the surface of land or a planet created from terrain elevation data. It represents the bare ground surface without any objects like plants and buildings.

The digital surface model (DSM) represents the bare ground surface including all objects like plants and buildings.
